My passion

Beginning in my youth, I have had an interest in photography. From the family Kodak Instamatic camera to my newest digital camera, I have always enjoyed taking pictures. I was inspired by my brother and began truly learning by using his Pentax K-1000.

Later, my passion grew during my study of photography at Washtenaw Community College. There, I quickly fell in love with the darkroom and the studio.

I work in multiple formats: digital and analog photography. My preferred analog format is edium Format, but I also shoot 35mm and large format.

The photographic process brings me much joy. It begins with deliberate choices of film type and format, or digital, composing the image through the lens, and making decisions of exposure and depth of field. Developing the negative and experiencing the darkroom magic of the print coming alive satisfies me and completes the process.

I truly find joy not only in the making of an image but also in sharing it with others to enjoy.
