“Photograph what your heart hears; what your soul feels”
Cardinal de Retz wrote “There is nothing in this world that does not have a decisive moment” With photography those moments emotions are frozen in time. We experience those moments through the lens; joy, sadness, anger, courage, fear, beauty and so much more.
While out hiking today and taking in the world around me inspiration came to me “Photograph what your heart hears; what your soul feels” Every photo I take is encapsulated in that statement.
What does my heart hear; what does my soul feel? A view of a trail leading down to one of my favorite fishing spots brings back memories of friends in time and space. A moody portrait brings you to question the moment of contemplation. Mother and daughters in the kitchen preparing Thanksgiving dinner bring back memories of those that have gone before. Landscapes with mountain ranges and wispy clouds take me back.
My favorite images answer what my heart hears, what my soul feels.
