My thoughts…..

May 7th 2025 First Images World Pinhole Photography Day

Today the first of my images from World Pinhole Photography Day have been uploaded. I am thrilled with my redscaled images. I shot Curwood Castle in Owosso, MI with Cinestill 400D redscaled in my 4x5 Lensless Camera. I have come to realize that architecture looks great in redscale. The shots taken with the Holga WPC look okay and I am waiting for the B&W shots from the Zero Image 135 pinhole. All in all World Pinhole Photography Day was fun and a success. To see the castle image visit the Alternative gallery.

April 27, 2025 - World Pinhole Photography Day

This is a day to celebrate all things pinhole photography. Pinhole photography is a lenseless form of photography utilizing a very small aperture (opening), resulting in long exposures, near infinite depth of field, and ethereal or dream-like appearance. Pinhole cameras may be quite simple and made from everyday objects, such as tin cans or shoe boxes, or elaborate.

Today I visited Owosso and Muir, Michigan, for this annual event. I used Film Ferannnia P30 in the 135 Dual Format Zero Image (panoramic), Harman Phoenix in the Holga Wide Pinhole Camera, and Cinestill 400D in the Lensless Camera Manufacturing Co. 4x5 Wood Pinhole Camera. I shot the Cinestill 400D reversed; that is to say, I loaded the film backwards. This should result in a red appearance. Images coming soon…
